Admission Procedure

Sainik School Defence Academy offers co-educational admissions for various preparatory courses, with a strong emphasis on merit-based selection through an entrance examination. Below is a detailed overview of our admission process:


Entrance Examination

  • Eligibility: Admission to the following courses is granted based on the performance in our entrance examination:

    • NDA Coaching After Class 9

    • NDA Coaching After Class 10

    • NDA Coaching After Class 11

    • NDA Coaching After Class 12

    • CDSE

    • AFCAT Coaching

    • Agniveer Vayu

    • SSB Training

  • Examination Centers: The exam is conducted at various centers nationwide, including our designated Sainik School Defence Academy center.

  • Qualifying Criteria: To be eligible for admission, candidates must secure a minimum of 70% in all subjects of the written examination.


Result Declaration

  • First Merit List: The initial merit list will be published in the first week of March.

  • Second & Final Merit List: The final merit list will be announced in the last week of March.


Selection Process

Candidates who make it to the merit list will proceed through the following steps:

  • Physical Examination: After the merit list is released, selected candidates will undergo a physical examination.

  • Interview: A personal interview will follow the physical examination.

The final admission decision is based on the candidate’s performance across the written exam, physical examination, medical test, and interview.


Documents Required for Admission

At the time of admission, parents/guardians must submit the following documents:

  1. Admit Card (optional)

  2. Six self-addressed envelopes

  3. Six photographs of the student and one each of both parents (mandatory)

  4. Demand Draft in favor of Sainik School Defence Academy, payable at Hanumangarh (mandatory)

  5. Date of Birth Certificate (mandatory)

  6. Transfer Certificate (TC), countersigned by the DEO/authorized officer

  7. Proof of Defence/Ex-Defence Personnel status (if applicable)

  8. Domicile Certificate

  9. Group Photograph (postcard size) of the student with parents (mandatory)

For candidates seeking admission to Class 9th & 11th, the first installment of the fee is to be submitted at the time of the physical examination and interview.


This process ensures a thorough and transparent selection procedure, with careful attention to both academic and physical aptitude.
